The Nadia Reisenberg & Clara Rockmore Foundation

To date, the Foundation has enabled the release of two CD reissues of Reisenberg's acclaimed Westminster CDs, plus another originally put out by Musical Heritage; a first-ever CD of Clara Rockmore performances, newly remastered from tapes recorded by Robert Moog; and established a biennial Nadia Reisenberg Memorial Recital Award at the Mannes College of Music.

Before the end of 2008, Bridge Records will release a 4-CD set of Nadia Reisenberg's Chopin – the complete Nocturnes and Mazurkas, several shorter pieces, and the B Minor Sonata (recorded in recital at Carnegie Hall); also near completion is the digital remastering of Nadia Reisenberg's historic 1939-1940 broadcasts of all the Mozart Piano Concertos, with Alfred Wallenstein conducting.

Fully tax-deductible donations to the Foundation are welcome, and will help finance future projects, such as making available Clara Rockmore's live performances over WQXR, and publishing Leon Theremin's letters to Clara; the Nadia Reisenberg Celebration concert at Merkin Hall (with Artur Balsam, Rudolf Firkusny, Richard Goode, Ann Schein and other noted students, friends and colleagues), more of the Westminster LPs, including the Tchaikovsky Sonata, Moussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" and – with the violist Paul Doktor – the two Brahms Sonatas.

For especially generous donors, the Foundation has a number of what public Radio and TV stations call "thank-you gifts," among them the hard-cover book "Nadia Reisenberg: A Musician's Scrapbook," and for theremin collectors, a rather glamourous press photo of Clara from the very early 1940s (prepared for her cross-country tours with Paul Robeson), original flyers from her 1938 Town Hall recital with Nadia, and even a few full programs from that concert (with ads for upcoming appearances by such other legendary artists as Heifetz, Zimbalist, Gieseking and the Don Cossack Choir).
